Young moved from North Carolina to Los Angeles, landing roles as Cathy Metsker and Rachel in JJ Abrams Mission Impossible: 3 which stars Tom Cruise and Keri Russel. In Los Angeles, she has produced numerous independent films, including The Freebie (starring DaxShepard) as well as A Country Remedy which stars Joshua Leonard. Following that she was in a second part alongside Jim Rash and David Koechner in independent comedy Bernard and Huey. In 2018, she starred in Disney's Live Action adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time alongside Oprah Winfrey Reese Witherspoon Mindy Kaling.
