Julia Fiona Roberts is the daughter of Betty Lou Bredemus, and Walter Grady Roberts. She was born on October 28, 1967 at Atlanta. Her grandfather, her great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts, a farmer and farmer, was the very first Roberts to move to Atlanta. Her father's passion for theatre was inherited by her. in the theatre at a young stage. He was an actor on the Emory University campus in 1952 as well as in various productions in Atlanta. In 1953, he enlisted in the Air Force and while stationed at Biloxi in Mississippi acted in productions with Betty Lou Bredemus. The couple got married in 1955 and their first child Eric Anthony was born in 1956. The couple divorced in 1957. the air force and Walter entered Tulane University in New Orleans Louisiana. In 1960 the family moved from Louisiana to Decatur Georgia where Walter began working with Atlanta's Academy Theater and the Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. Walter and Betty Lou produced a Saturday early morning television program that was aimed at children, that was titled Bum Bum and His Buddies in 1964. The show was a success and they made a living from it. They later founded The Actors and Writers Workshop which continued for six seasons. They had Lelisa Billingsley (also also known as Lisa) as well as Julia (also called Julie) during this period.
